Can’t say enough about the Go2 Bar. Been there many times for breakfast (great omelletes) and late night drinks. The wait staff are friendly, funny, and a wonderful reflection of Saigon hospitality.

One of my favorite Saigon activities is to sit on the second floor at the “windows” (its in an updated French colonial building with no glass covering the large open windows). You can watch the infamous Saigon traffic at the intersection below. I have yet to see an accident even though there is no traffic light and people criss cross in front of each other at 20+ mph.

Also, Go2 Bar has free wireless. I travel to Saigon on business. When I am doing paperwork and get bored with the hotel room, I take my laptop to Go2 in the afternoon and work. Staff don’t mind if I spend two hours sipping one drink while I tap on my laptop. I always leave a 50k VND tip (about 3 USD). Makes them very happy (they make at most 30 – 40 USD per week). Enjoy!

…actually, the description needs updating. On the fifth floor, up a steep set of stairs, there is now a lovely rooftop patio (with a retractable roof, no less!) that has cheap happy hour drinks (I think 2 for 1 from 4 to 7 PM) and a decently priced BBQ (cook it yourself on a mid-table grill with a propane tank underneath). The view of the street is not as nice from the top floor, but the air is considerably fresher, and you are not pestered by the people at street level trying to sell you crap. On a clear night, you can actually see a handful of stars, a rarity in downtown HCMC.

If there are still a few people hanging around, it is possible that the bar will just stay open all night, and you can order breakfast with your next beer as the sun comes up…

    Cheers, Dave

I’ve come 1001 times, many things are wrong here. Many working girls and bad management. 20% up on your bill after 1 am for service charge and the money doesn’t go to the staff. I’ve seen 20 staff try to hit white guys and black guys. It’s very not right there.

What Nb says and what Limbo says TRUE TRUE TRUE. Watch the whores there. They are very light fingered. Not bad for a drink to network with other backpackers… not real Vietnam though. Toi biet roi, toi la nguoi UC nhung toi den VN nhieu lam roi. Most girls there (Viet girls) after 9pm are hookers… Music is good though.

Wow people! You are such hypocrites! If it’s so bad then why were you there 1001 times??? They can’t stop customers from coming in; what you do is your own damn business! You try finding a better place to be after 1 am in Saigon! psh! You probably got drunk and got your ass kicked there, that’s why!

When i was living in Vietnam, I truely enjoyed my experience at Go2. It was a great place with lots of friendly tourists, expats and locals. The bar staff are awesome. Go2 is slightly more pricey than other places but compared to prices back home, it is still quite cheap. The only people that i ever had problems from was foreigner men. The foreigners get away with a lot more here than they would back home. I never saw any violance from the bar staff or the security and i was living there for well over a year and a regular to the point of daily. Well worth a visit.

I have just left Saigon and I found Go2 to be expensive compared to the other bars beside it. I did witness the staff fighting with a customer, they were having a disagreement over a bill then one of the staff pulled out a stick and hit the customer. I just think u have to be very careful if u drink there.

Went there last Friday night, the music was so cool. The bar was very crowded with a lot of prostitute girls, foreigners, some of them are gays I believe. Anyway, I will come back to enjoy again.

Music is good ? The music is same shit every day, everyday, everyday. Top 50 hits from the 70’s to today, good for backpackers and the masses. Too loud all time, cannot talk. Only place to stay open all night. Thousands of taxi girls on the first floor (with the same shit music). Actually people go there because it’s the only place like this in the area. In front have the Crazy Buffalo : even worst, shit name, shit logo, shit building, shit music, friendly staff (normal, it’s young vietnamese student).
    Poor places.

I have been there a couple of times 2 weeks ago…. Saigon has so many tourists but where do they
Go at night?? We were questioning that…. Same for the young locals…. Music is indeed the same every night,
But i would say it is almost a must to see for the mix of western guys looking for girls and the vietnamese
Culture….. Uhm…. The prostitutes…. You see maybe 3 or 4′ western’ girls, which gives you a sort of odd feeling
…. Well, if you are a bit critical on society, norms and values and so on.. But it is saigon. Go to
The horse racing as well in district 10, real karaoke in district 3 and see rest of vietnam on a motor
Bike with the easy riders and you will feel top of the world in vietnam!!

I had a similar problem to Fred tonight at the Go2 bar. They had Saigon beer listed at 15000d on the menu. The price had been amended, as had some of the other prices. A waiter confirmed the prices were correct so we ordered several beers over the next 2-3 hours. However, when later presented with the bill we were charged 35000d per beer. We pointed out the 15000d price on our menu but were then shown other menus with the price listed at 35000d. The staff became very aggressive when we said we would pay the price on our menu, saying that they were right and our menu wrong and surrounding our table. Because of the threatening behaviour we felt it prudent to pay the higher price and put this one down to experience. My advice is please avoid this bar – there are plenty of other decent bars in the area that are better managed and don’t cheat or threaten their customers.

Go 2 is the only late late bar around, so basically the dregs of society go there as theres no where else. drinks expensive +20% . 90 per cent of the non white girls are hookers ,which is ok in itself but wouldn’t trust many of them and if you do decide to partake put everything bar the kitchen sink in the safe.

Go 2 is a pure tourist place, such as the Crazy Buffalo on the other side of the street.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed the kindness of the staff.
Many girls after 1am, from little bars to find a potential customer at those place.
security guys are ok, sometimes a bit rude with the local girls.
    Good to see one time.

this place is bullshit, all discrimination, even though i am vietnamese myself, wanting to show my international friends a good time, i live in canada myself, and also have family that reside in saigon. the problem is that i was kicked out of there before i was even able to enter the premises, reason why? i don’t even know, i tried talking to the managers and owners, and they could not give me a reason as to why my friends and i were not allowed into there so called “amazing bar”, as i was trying to communicate with the owners, they turned their backs on me, i just simply gave them my middle finger and told them all to fuck themselves. i’m not trying to be ignorant, all i want is an understanding as to why i am not able to party there

I was just back to this bar, and I ve got a lot of fun again. I fall in love with an english girl !! lol. I can understand you, Hung. I ve seen almost the same when a vietnamese girl want to go by herself to the place. She has been kicket out not very friendly. I went to guard at the entrance and told him if he does not want to accept her inside the club, I + all my friends will leave immediatly. He finally accept, and Poi (her name) was really happy.
Of course, she is a professionnal, she was looking for customer. AND? 95 % of the men were looking for that kind of lady !
Nevertheless, I ve got a very good time overthere.

Go 2 bar is expensive compared to other bars, and is totally a tourist spot, but its got the atmosphere. Lots of people, loud music albeit centuries old – put it this way, you know the words! Upstairs def has the working girls after dark but as a female it was funny to watch! Great entertainment. Im not sure if I was laughing at the girls or the Western guys trying to dip their wicks lol But it is what it is and hey, each to their own. The staff were friendly and it is pretty much the only place to stay open all night.

It was a great night and would definately and did definately during my time there go back.

This bar is purely a tourist trap. The drinks even in the bar down stairs are double the price of any of the other bars in the surrounding area. You wll struggle to walk past the bar without having one of the 50 staff attempt to drag you in; charging you a service charge for your drinks for their troubles. Our friend has her iphone stolen from her bag at the bar and the security refused to help. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy seeing 80 year old german men without young vietnames prostitutes.

Hello,we spend our last few days in vietnam, after a one month trip from north to south, in the famous 2 go bar. first we thought it is a typically tourist nap bar and so it was, but after one month we were happy to get cold drinks, loud music and opening hours after 11 p.m.!
There are many hookers located in this place, but not all of the viet ladies are in touch with this business, so if a viet lady want to directly talk to you be alarmed, and watch your pockets.
I met also a viet girl in this bar and on first sight i thought this girl must be a hooker, but after 2 hours dancing, a nice chit chat, and a real great night, it was only a very lovely girl. We stay still in touch, after 2 month. So this bar was for me, the perfect ending of our famous trip trough Vietnam.

p.s. staff is very nice, prices to high but….i really loved this bar… so see you in 6 month….

Go2 is owned by an american and he has a new resort in mui ne you should visit. A little expensive but relaxing.
Go2 bar used to be a chinese restaurant during the war years and the building has a great history.
Enjoy the bar but watch your wallet. I wish they would get a new ATM because sometimes this one sucks in your card and keeps it.

Not ALL girls who are there after 1pm are whores. Just saying. Some girls are perfectly nice and friendly and they’re just trying to make friends. Don’t let some easy-going girls make you think that all Vietnamese girls are just trying to steal your money.
Other than that, I love Go2 and everytime I go there it’s always fun. All sorts of thing can happen in one night it’s crazy; but that’s the beauty in it.

ok, there needs to be some serious conversation about our country. i hear many foreigner saying all the girl on bui vien are sex working, and not all true, although many high percent sadly it has to be said, but what we do not like is seeing the men coming here where they have more income to our country where we still have many disadvantages for poorer areas, and they exploit the situation by keeping the demand going for sex exploitation. do many know that we have mafia controlling many girls, the xe om motor taxi get money to try and sell girls, and it is illegal in vietnam for prostitution, and we have many raids happen more and more as our economy and standards of living grow at a rapid pace. we work with many charity group and asean country to stop human trafficking, and we know that when the man come here to take girl for sex, he is aiding in trafficking and exploitation, that is fact, as we rescue many girl already and they have stories of being beaten, starved, put on drugs, blackmail to family, and worse. the oldest profession was slavery that resulted from conquering nations imposing rape and women to be prostitute and slave, but many men they come here and disregard what teir actions have on the girls, and that is very sad for us to see. we are not anywhere as bad as thailand, or singapore, etc, not even close, but the old men walking with our young girls to go hotel, trust me, it makes the local people very upset, because this girl is someones daughter, sister, or so., and if family knows of this is the end:( its amazes us after all the deveop country have so many opportunity and care for women right, that they coming here and forget about that care of our women and many, many, most of the men coming acting like ale dog of no control of themself desires. you ever see a 65 year old vietnam man walking in your country with 19yr old girl to go hotel? i doubt it, but we see foreign man of 65 year old here walking w 19 yr old girl, so disgusting for us to see after all we did to gain our right to have our country back, to be exploited and treated like poor people so can take advantage of the girl then go home and talk of holiday in vietnam. why not come here and volunteer in our childrens hospitals for agent orange victims, or help to talk to people coming to our country to not engage in prostitution. we love to meet foreighners. and so happy they enjoy our country, but want theyb really see our country not a bar.

Most allready written above is true. Normal people eating, then before midnight vast majority of local girls were “working”. After midnight there were also non-working girls in disco and I did have a great night. Not as many expats as I expected. This was early in the week so maybe different on other days.

Good time but gets increasingly expensive as night progress…

Don’t go to this place they charged me an extra million dong for stuff I didn’t order. This is because they don’t understand English and are very shifty. So about 10 security guards came with batons and kept me there as almost a hostage they pushed me and tripped me over because I refused to pay them. And the food was rubbish and prices you get more at McDonald’s. I would advise you do not go here expecially if you don’t speak English. I was kept there for 2 hours. This is an allround bad place.
