Do not go here… If you buy a bottle, the waiters will continually fill your glass even when you TELL THEM TO STOP!

My girlfriend suffered alcohol poisioning and had to be hospitalised even though I asked the staff at least twice, to stop putting alcohol in to her glass, even though she had clearly had far too much to drink.

Their insistance on chasing profit puts lives at risk and I will not be returning.

We had the opportunity of having a local friend take us here a few days ago. We had a GREAT time. The music was a little “techy” but good, had a decent mix for both travelers and locals when we were there. Even security, though firm was friendly enough.

In reference to the previous comment, I just wanted to add that continuous filling is more of a Saigon/Vietnam thing, not specific to America Discotheque. We tried a # of clubs in addition to this place, and that’s just how it works here. Even restaurants are quick to refill all liquors whether it be hard liquor, wine, etc.

As w/ many clubs, general noise and the language barrier can make communication harder. It just makes sense to appoint a someone to not drink for the evening & look after their friends. Also, when I felt that I was coming close to the end, I simply left my shot glass full to prevent further refill.

I speak enough Vietnamese to know how to tell someone to stop touching my drinks. My girlfriend is Vietnamese, she told them to stop too. We had asked for the bottle of Vodka to be removed and just only cans of coke to be left and topped up.
I’ve never had this problem in any other club, when you tell them to stop, they stop, just only American would rather put someone’s life at risk.

My GF collapsed and passed out on the dance floor and the security just laughed, even when I asked for “bệnh viện” and “cứu thương” they just walked away… I had to carry her out of the club myself, take her to a taxi and get her to a hospital.

Security had been trying to touch her up all night when they realised she was drunk, as soon as they saw there was a real problem they all just turned there backs.

Sounds like your girlfriend’s are a bunch of sloppy drunks. What’s so hard about putting the glass down? Alcoholism is a disease and your girlfriend’s need some professional help.

it’s not really the waiters fault, its their job to fill up your glasses, its YOUR choice of drinking it or not, if its full then the waiters cant fill it up , so best thing yet, LEAVE IT FULL , they cant fill it unless its empty

Its my first visit here to Ho Chi Minh, me and my Thailand G/F, our impression, much our rated, very expensive, must constantly be aware of being ripped off, money is the only motivation, beware of dark night clubs, over priced drinks, food is good, again pick your places to eat carefully, prices vary considerably..for the people here, its a case of “how much you wanna pay”
    Good Luck

    Hey, guys:
Spending your nights out in Asian countries, or in Vietnam, generally, it would be safer for your sake to take a couple of natives with.
    Have a good time!!!

Came on guys, it seem a kids wall, the disco is nice, and you can have there the same problems with some annoying waiter than in Oscars, gossip, velvet or any other vietnamese club…

LOL Andrew Birds post is the funniest reading ever! Sounds like he is a cute American guy who is not so familiar with alcohol or maybe it is his girlfriend which is not.
But yea anywhere in Vietnam you go to a club there will be waiters refilling your drink, and even in the smallest clubs or discos in Saigon. It is so that they can earn a tip! Fortunately many places they now understand that western people like to do it themselves so you might be able to convince them that you dont want it.
    Cheers

I spent a week at this Hotel last month, not a girl friend hotel and they are rudely expelled,
The rooftop bar and restaurant is horrible for singles. Only go there if you bring your own group.
